About Me
Hey there! I'm Fredy, a passionate React developer and educator who loves helping other developers level up their skills and land their dream jobs.
My journey with coding started in high school when I discovered HTML and was amazed by how a few lines of code could transform into styled text and images in the browser. That spark led me to pursue a computer science degree, which opened doors to work with frameworks like AngularJS, Vue, and React. I found my passion for React in 2018 at AT&T, where I saw firsthand how it solved scalability issues in large Angular applications. Since then, I’ve specialized in React, spending the last several years building high-performance applications and deepening my expertise.
Outside of work, I’ve always enjoyed sharing what I learn. This blog began as a way to help friends and family break into React and explore tech career paths, but it has grown into a mission to support developers everywhere. I focus on practical learning with real-world examples, hands-on projects, and clear explanations that make React concepts easy to grasp. My goal is to help you not just write code, but also gain the confidence to grow into a successful developer.
My React Journey
2012 – First Steps
In college, I helped small businesses with jQuery, vanilla JavaScript, and simple PayPal integrations—my first real experience bringing ideas to life on the web.
2014 – 2018: The Beginning
Explored frameworks like AngularJS and Vue.js, where the component-based approach felt intuitive and efficient. During this time, I also worked as a Backend Engineer, Scrum Master and QA Engineer, building a strong foundation in testing, automation, and software quality.
2018 – 2023: Professional Growth
Focused fully on React, building large-scale enterprise applications at AT&T and TradeStation. I honed skills in state management, testing, and performance optimization, delivering production-ready apps used by thousands.
2023 – Teaching & Sharing
Today, I’m a lead React engineer at TradeStation and the creator of this blog, where I share practical lessons to help developers grow faster and avoid common pitfalls.
